Palang Pintu Festival at Jl Kemang Raya This Weekend

South Jakarta Administration is holding the Palang Pintu Festival Kemang XI that staged on Jalan Kemang Raya from today, Saturday (5/28) until Sunday (5/29).

Besides preserving Betawi culture, the event is a gathering event among Betawian artists and also welcoming the city's 489 anniversary

South Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept Head, Christianto disclosed, to smoothen the event, the road closure and traffic diversion have been applied since Friday (5/27) night. And will be re-opened on Monday (5/30).

"Traffic from Kemang McDonald towards Kemang Selatan, will be rerouted to Jl Kemang Selatan VIII and Kemang Selatan XII. Then from Kemang Selatan towards Kemang Raya, will be rerouted to Jl Raya Pangeran Antasari," he expressed, Friday (5/27).

According to him, for the people who want to visit, can entruse the vehicle at the parking lots around the gate that managed by local residents. Later on, traffic will re-opened on Monday at 4 AM.

Committee Head of Palang Pintu Festival, Ridwan stated, his side is still maintaining the main attraction, Palang Pintu contest that compete for Jakarta Governor Trophy and Martial Art Creation contest for Youth and Sport Ministry Trophy.

"Besides preserving Betawi culture, the event is a gathering event among Betawian artists and also welcoming the city's 489 anniversary," he stated.

He continued, during the festival, there will be two main stages that will be filled with dances, music performance, Betawi Samrah culture until Sahibul Hikayat, a tale rarely. The event will also be enlivened by 270 booths in which 39 percent are culinary booths. Then the rest are varieties of unique trinkets until apparel.

"As planned, at around 1 PM, Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama and Mayor of South Jakarta, Tri Kurniadi will attend in the event," he disclosed.
